Championship Aspiration: How Jalen Hurts has provided a platform for youth development

Eagles franchise quarterback Jalen Hurts is no stranger to success; with a national championship and a Superbowl win that highlight his illustrious yet young career. Jalen’s humble nature allows him to recognize that he could not have reached these lengths without the people around him and the environment in which he grew up. Born and raised in Houston, Jalen was simply a visitor to the city of Philadelphia as a rookie but quickly became a fan-favorite allowing the city to become his new home. As a symbol of his gratitude and a way to give back to the community that idolized him, Jalen established the Jalen Hurts Foundation. Jalen’s mission was to provide the Philadelphia youth with a platform to grow and develop.
Although the Jalen Hurts Foundation was officially launched in 2024, Jalen has been striving to achieve his mission since his arrival in the city of brotherly love. Jalen developed the mantra “Breed of 1” in 2022 highlighting his belief in self-confidence and the idea of becoming the best version of himself. In the summer of 2022, Jalen began a free football camp for kids teaching them the basics of the game. The camp meant much more to Jalen than football however:
“I want everybody to realize that they’re their own breed of one… Everybody has something that makes them special.” - Jalen Hurts
Throughout the start of his NFL career, Jalen has donated hundreds of thousands to several youth-focused organizations. Recently’ The Jalen Hurts Foundation donated $200,000 to the School District of Philadelphia to provide 300 air conditioning units to K-12 schools around the Philadelphia area. This donation should provide over 5,500 kids with a comfortable atmosphere where they can learn. Donations like this are what aid Jalen Hurts in following his foundation's mantra: “Service. Mentor. Progress.” Jalen aims to be a leader both on and off the field which he continues to show through his constant efforts as the founder of this organization.
Shortly before the 2024 NFL season, Jalen Hurts, along with the Jalen Hurts Foundation,
announced his official partnership with the Lincoln Financial Group. Lincoln Financial is a long standing partner of the Philadelphia Eagles, hence why their home field is named Lincoln Financial Field. They aim to partner with non-profits like the Jalen Hurts Foundation to achieve aligned goals and develop Philadelphia. Throughout the 2024 season Jalen Hurts and the Eagles solidified themselves as the best team in the NFL, which led Lincoln Financial to lean into their partnership with the Jalen Hurts Foundation. Together, the groups raised funding and promoted community engagement which will continue to positively impact the Philadelphia youth for as long as the partnership lasts.
